Mechelle Zarou, partner in the Toledo office, has been inducted as a Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation. The Ohio State Bar Foundation (OSBF) is the charitable arm of the Ohio State Bar Association that works to advance the law and build a better justice system.  Through its grants and programs, they educate and perform outreach to the public to make the law fair for all Ohioans.  Membership in the Foundation is an honor extended only to lawyers whose careers have demonstrated their dedication to the highest ideals of the legal profession and the welfare of their community.

Mechelle is a partner in Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP’s labor and employment department, as well as Co-Chair of the firm’s Immigration practice group.  Mechelle regularly assists employers with obtaining temporary and permanent visas for skilled foreign workers.  She has extensive experience in obtaining L-1, H-1B, TN and E visas on behalf of foreign workers, as well as permanent residency based on employment.  Mechelle also has experience assisting the firm’s healthcare clients with their specialized immigration needs, including obtaining J-1 visa waivers, visa screen certifications, and H-1B cap exemptions.

Mechelle received her J.D. and M.A. from Duke University and her B.A., with honors, from the University of Michigan.
