Effective July 7, 2015, the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City will no longer process E visa applications. Due to a recent increase in E-1 (for treaty traders) and E-2 (for treaty investors) visa applications, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) has shifted the processing of E-1 and E-2 visas away from the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City to other consulates in the country. Specifically, until further notice, the Consulates in Monterrey and Tijuana will process E-1 visa application. E-2 visa applications will be processed by the Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez.
